Death of tribal woman due to alleged medical negligence in Telangana

On December 5, 2021, a tribal woman identified as MesramGangubai (23 years) allegedly died due to alleged medical negligence of doctors at the Rajiv Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) at Adilabad in Telangana. A native of Suryaguda village in Gudihathnoormandal in Adilabad district, pregnant Gangubai was admitted to the RIMS when she developed labour pains on December 21. She delivered a baby girl through caesarean section and was receiving treatment at the hospital. She died on 5 December.  The family members and relatives of Gangubaialleged that the doctors at the RIMS Adilabad botched up the caesarean section which resulted in the death of Gangubai.  

Death of a tribal lady due to alleged medical negligence of doctors during child birth is a serious human rights violation. Therefore,IRAC has sought  the immediate intervention of the National Human Rights Commission over this incident of death of the triabl woman.
